Sex Offender Leads the Parade for Murdered Iowa Girls

Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months until Saturday, July 13, 2013 marked a year that Lyric & Elizabeth vanished from Evansdale, Iowa. The day was celebrated much like the other events that have been hosted in the Evansdale community with fundraisers, dinners and lots of hoopla. Who knew that two murdered children would turn into a franchise for many?

There was a Memorial Ride & Drive for the Girls. Alicia Kozakiewicz, a victim who been held hostage, tortured and sexually assaulted for four days attended the event. In 2002 a then 13-year-old Alicia was lured on the Internet by a sex predator. She spoke to the Evansdale crowd about the importance of vigilance against child predators. Since her tragedy Alicia has took a negative and turned it into a positive to help others.

I want to make it clear that Alicia was NOT aware that the SECOND car leading the parade behind Drew and Heather Collins was another child sex predator just like the one that haunts her dreams turning them into nightmares! Essentially Elica was a victim of a different sort but she attended in good faith. Those involved should be ashamed of themselves!

The predator I'm talking about is Heather & Drew’s friend, Hope Martin "Buzz" Anderson. A flamboyant Waterloo, Iowa native who looks like a poor man's Liberace but attempts to mimic Elvis. He's flamboyant & loves the theatre.

Buzz Anderson, then 39-years-old was arrested in 1981 for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girlAttorney David Correll said sexual relations occurred between Anderson and the 13 year old girl on 9 occasions beginning Dec. 1, 1980 and ending Jan. 5, 1981. The State had nude & semi-nude photographs of the minor child and Anderson.

There was correspondence between the two which would be used as evidence. The photos found at his home were "extremely" incriminating toward him and his involvement in the case. Police also found marijuana, cocaine and LSD during the search.

According to locals the facts are overlooked by many who look the other way because Buzz is a "prominent Waterloo businessman". That is was all a misunderstanding and Buzz had consensual sex with the 13-year-old victim and that she was a prostitute. However during court proceedings Mr. Correll argued that the girl was not a prostitute until after her relationship with Anderson, rather she worked as a prostitute outside of Blackhawk County after her relationship with Anderson ended.

  • How does a 13-year-old consent to sex? She is a minor!
  • What kind of sicko has sex with a child?
  • What kind of parent condones his behavior?
  • What kind of people socialize with child sex offenders?
  • Is it easier to dismiss if the sex offender is a pillar of the community?
  • Is it easier to overlook if you are receiving gifts from a pervert?
How can Drew & Heather make public statements regarding child sex trafficking yet socialize with Buzz Anderson, a pedophile?
At the amazement of many the Collins continue to consort with pedophile Buzz Anderson even after their 8-year-old daughter and 10-year-old niece were murdered. And their have been no arrest in the case. They also allowed him to release white doves at Elizabeth Collins Celebration of Life ceremony. He is also helping fund Angels Park Memorial Island of Evansdale a park dedicated the the girls memory. Heather has accepted gifts, gone out to dinner, attended the theatre and even partied with Buzz.

Heather's snarking comments about trees on cake in reference to community being upset over so many trees being removed. According to Heather Drew finds it funny too.
Locals don't seem to find the destruction of the park funny.

Be sure to read the comment section of that article. By the way, Miles Rocks ID is Miles Rocks, one of the Collins friends. He played a big part in the Concert for the Angels. He is a weekend DJ at Rock 108

How can Drew Collins be an advocate for stronger sex offender laws but he and his wife mingle with one?

In the video below at the 1:20 mark Drew Collins say that he supports the death penalty."If someone murders a child, they need to be punished severely,". But he doesn't sound like he has much conviction in what he is saying.

Heather and Drew Collins are talking out of both sides of their mouth. How can they claim to want stronger laws for sex offenders but cozy right up to one? That leaves many people scratching their heads in amazements and definitely does not shed a good light on the Collins. Many of their actions even make it appear that they know more about the murders than they have publicly stated. Or there is one heck of a cover-up going on in that town. Either way it makes LE in that area appear incompetent or even involved in such a cover-up.

I will be posting info collected and let you decide with the info what you think. To many the Collins look worse than the Cook-Morrissey side even with their drug use and arrest.

What else are they hiding?

You decide.

BELOW is the full transcript from the Dec. 7, 1981 Waterloo Courier Hope Martin "Buzz" Anderson's child sex offender article:

Hope Martin Buzz Anderson pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of third degree sexual abuse after he conferred with his attorneys, Lawrence Scalise and Wallace Parrish. Anderson, a prominent Waterloo resident faces a mandatory prison sentence for the charge.

Anderson pleads guilty to sexual abuse charge. In a sudden turn of events Hope Martin Buzz Anderson entered district-court here Monday and pleaded guilty to third degree sexual abuse. The plea which requires a prison sentence with no vision for a suspended or deferred term came on the same day Anderson was scheduled to stand trial for the charge.

Anderson 39, made his plea before Judge Joseph Keefe after reading a page and half statement saying the charge and the publicity surrounding the charge has caused enormous sorrow for myself and my family.

The courtroom was packed with spectators during Anderson's guilty plea. In exchange for his guilty plea the County Attorney's office has agreed to drop drug charges against Anderson who is a prominent Waterloo businessman. He was charged with third degree sexual abuse in connection with having sexual intercourse with a girl from Dec. 1, 1980 until Jan. 5, 1981.

Anderson was arrested at his home at 1010 Fletcher Ave after Waterloo Police searched the residence and found pictures of the girl in nude and poses. Police also reportedly found marijuana, cocaine and LSD during the search. Mandatory sentence for the charge is up to 10 years with no provision for the judge to suspend or defer the term.

Sentencing is expected to be late in January. Anderson will be eligible for parole at the of the state parole board. Where he will serve his sentence will be determined by the state department of Adult Corrections.

Anderson's attorney Lawrence Scalise however has asked that Anderson be allowed to serve his term in a federal penal institution. Attorney David Correll said he decided to accept the guilty plea and drop the drug complaints because it would be sparing the child, the complaining witness the difficult situation of coming in and explaining the unfortunate circumstances rounding the charge Correll said. He also said he agreed to drop the drug charges because they were misdemeanors and that the judge would most likely not make Anderson serve additional prison time if he was convicted.

The county attorney said he would make no recommendation on where Anderson would serve his sentence but said that he would ask that the defendant's safety be assured. By pleading guilty to the charge Anderson gives up all rights to appeal any motions that Judge Keefe made.

Anderson who answered softly to all of Judge Keefe's questions choked up while reading his statement to the judge and had to stop to drink water. He said in the statement that at no time did I ever intend to violate that law. Unfortunately for me and all others similarly situated mistake as to the girl's age or the lack of criminal intent is not a legal excuse in this state as it in in other states.

He said that he must put an end to the torment and frustration and the heartache it has and is causing others by pleading guilty.

Anderson said his mother who has lived loved and given unselfishly to this community is my first concern. The many aspects of this have hurt her deeply and given her profound anguish, she is 71-years-old.

My father, a man has been greatly disturbed and I am deeply concerned for their well-being. I wish to protect them from any further agony and stress. Many of my friends and business associates have expressed their concern and sympathy and I also wish to lift the strain from them.

These reasons are important factors and considerations for my plea here today he read to the judge copies of the statement were distributed to members of the press after the proceeding.

Another reason for my action here today is the inadmissibility of the girl's own prior conduct. It is unfortunate that her prior sexual prostitution and dishonesty shoplifting which she admitted under oath is not relevant to this charge. It is unfortunate because her prior experience has given her and belies her age.

This sophistication as to her real age precipitated the events which brings me here today, he read.

Anderson's attorneys earlier argued that the girl should not be considered a child because she stated that she was a self-supported prostitute. The County Attorneys office argued that the law states a child is anyone under 14 regardless of past sexual history.

Judge Keefe agreed that the charges would not be dismissed.

Anderson was scheduled to be tried in Newton before a Jasper County jury. However further proceedings were moved back to Waterloo Saturday after attorneys in the case conferred.

Anderson lashed out at the press during his statement. Saying sensationalism by the press, their poor judgement and discrimination as to the matter is a threat to unbiased justice but the press will answer for their own conduct in this case.

Correll told the judge that had the trial gone forward the states evidence against Anderson would demand a guilty verdict.

Correll said Anderson was introduced to the girl, now 14 about Dec 1st 1980, by Vicki Vasquez 19. He said sexual relations occurred between Anderson and the 13 year old girl on 9 occasions. ending about Jan. 5, 1981.

The State had photographs of the girl and Anderson and there was correspondence between the two which would be used as evidence. The photos were "extremely" incriminating toward him and his involvement in the case. Correll said that the girl was not a prostitute until after her relationship with Anderson, rather she worked as a prostitute outside of Blackhawk County after her relationship with Anderson ended.

Anderson said "At no time did I intend to violate the law. Unfortunately a mistake as to the girls age is not a legal excuse in this state.

  2. Years, I never believed my mother. She always talked crazy. Until now, I never thought I would see that name "Buzz Anderson" I swear my mom was psycho. As a young child, she would constantly bring that name up. I can't believe what I just read. So she wasn't crazy. She protected us so "they" wouldn't take us and use us. I'm just so stunned to see that name. I honestly thought I would never hear that name again. I will say, you are on to something. Still to this day, it's hard to hear what my mom says, but she sure knows a lot of names of people and here I thought she was crazy. She named so many and she always called them the "mafia". And she even met that "Buzz Anderson".. So if this is actually true, then she was right and she was telling my sister and I the truth. This is too much and almost scary.

    1. What do you mean IF, the photos and words are in front of you. The fact that the police ask for anyone to tell them ANYTHING even if you think its irrelevent says that they need your help. He was probably supplying kiddie porn too. Wondedr who the two lead investigators angered to get fired... why is everyone so scared to speak up?

  3. So lucky to have you stand in judgement of people. Maybe you could take the place of our justice system or churches. Or maybe you could work on finding all those involved in this tragic murder and preventing repeat attacks.
